Gluten-Free Korean Air Fryer Chicken Wings – these crispy chicken wings fried in the air fryer are coated with a delicious sweet and spicy Korean hot sauce. They cook up in just 20 minutes and with a few minutes prep time you could be eating these tasty hot wings in 25 minutes.
This easy spicy chicken wings recipe is similar to Buffalo chicken wings, but I think these are so much tastier.

How to Make Gluten-Free Korean Air Fryer Chicken Wings:
Start with 1 1/2 pounds of chicken wings, mine measured out to seven whole wings. If they aren’t already cut use a sharp knife to cut between the joints. You’ll be able to find just the right spot to cut and when you do it’s pretty easy.
Spray the basket of your air fryer with oil and place the wings so they don’t overlap. Spritz the wings with the oil a couple of times and a little sprinkle of salt. Cook for 10 minutes at 400°. I use a GoWISE 5.8qt air fryer.
My favorite oil spritzer or oil sprayer is the Evo oil sprayer. They come in a two-pack so it’s easy to have one with olive oil and another with avocado oil. It sprays out in a flat fanned-out spray and doesn’t clog.
This is what the chicken wings will look like after cooking for 10 minutes. Give them a little spritz before turning to make sure they don’t stick. Turn them over and give them a couple more spritzes.
And this is what the chicken wings look like after another 10 minutes of cooking. If you want to eat them at this point without any sauce they would still be very good.
Mix the sauce ingredients together in a large bowl and then add in the cooked chicken wings. Stir them around until they are all coated. Remove the wings to a serving plate. If there is any sauce left you can pour it into a small bowl for extra dipping sauce.
Special gluten-free ingredients:
- The base of this tasty sauce is a Certified Gluten-Free Gochujang Korean Chili Sauce. I purchased mine on Amazon in a two-pack. I’ve also found this at Meijer’s Grocery Store in the World Food’s aisle and the price was cheaper so be sure to check your local grocery store.
- Use a gluten-free soy sauce like SanJ Tamari Gluten-Free Soy Sauce. You should be able to find this in your local grocery store but if not Amazon carries it too.
Dive into these chicken wings. They can be a bit messy so be sure to have napkins ready. It’ll be a totally happy delicious mess.
Serve with ranch dressing. I use either my homemade dairy-free ranch dressing, Tessamae Dairy-Free Ranch, or Primal Kitchen Ranch Dressing.
