    Homemade Breakfast Beef Sausage Recipe (Easy and Gluten-Free)

    This homemade breakfast beef sausage is an easy gluten-free alternative to traditional pork breakfast sausage. Made with simple pantry spices and ground beef, this flavorful sausage comes together quickly and can be used in breakfast casseroles, sausage gravy, breakfast scramble, Rotel dip, or made into sausage patties.

    Instructions

    Add all of the ingredients to the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a paddle, or to a large bowl.

    Mix until the spices and beef are thoroughly combined.

    Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned beef and cook, breaking it up with a spatula as it browns, until fully cooked and no longer pink.

    To make sausage patties: After mixing the spices and beef, shape them into 10-12 patties and fry over medium heat. Turn after 3-4 minutes and cook another 2-3 minutes until no longer pink in the center, or until it reaches 160° F.

    To store:

    Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

    To freeze:

    Freeze in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months. Be sure to label and date the container. To thaw, place it in the refrigerator overnight.

    Ingredients

    • 1 teaspoon ground sage
    • 1 teaspoon sea salt
    • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
    • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
    • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
    • ½ teaspoon fennel seeds
