Description
This homemade breakfast beef sausage is easy to make, gluten-free, and goes perfectly in any recipe that calls for breakfast sausage.
Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon ground sage
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- ½ teaspoon ground ginger
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- ½ teaspoon fennel seeds
Instructions
- Add all of the ingredients to the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a paddle, or to a large bowl.
- Mix until the spices and beef are thoroughly combined.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned beef and cook, breaking it up with a spatula as it browns, until fully cooked and no longer pink.
Notes
To make sausage patties: After mixing the spices and beef, shape them into 10-12 patties and fry over medium heat. Turn after 3-4 minutes and cook another 2-3 minutes until no longer pink in the center, or until it reaches 160° F.
