Old-fashioned gluten-free apple cobbler.Next time you’re looking for an easy gluten-free fruit dessert to make this old-fashioned gluten-free apple cobbler is perfect! With its ooey-gooey center, crunchy edges, and the perfect taste of apples it’s a crowd-pleaser. Last time I made this I sent it to a party with my family and they brought back just the empty dish. That’s a win!

Gluten-free apple cobbler is the perfect fruit dessert. How to Make Gluten-Free Apple Cobbler:

Place sliced apples, 3/4 cup sugar, and cornstarch together in a medium pot. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring frequently. Continue with the rest of the recipe while the apples are cooking just keep an eye on them and stir frequently.

Stir together almond milk and apple cider vinegar together in a cup and let sit.

Non-dairy butter melted in a casserole dish.Place buttery spread in a 9 x 13″ casserole dish. Turn oven on to 350°. Put the casserole dish in the oven to let the butter melt. It will take about 5-6 minutes for the buttery spread to melt.

Melted butter and batter in a glass casserole dish.In a medium bowl mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together.  Stir in the milk mixture.

Remove the casserole dish from the oven and pour the batter mixture over the melted buttery spread. Don’t stir but you can lightly spread the batter out if needed.

Apple slices on top of batter ready to be baked into an apple cobbler.Spoon the apples with the juices evenly over the batter mixture. Again don’t stir.

It’s good served warm, room temperature, or cold.

Hi Marian, no it doesn’t. My early recipes were THM friendly but I’m no longer creating THM recipes.

Do I need to use almond milk. Would regular milk work?

Delicious, my family loved it! I used half as much sugar as called for and added cinnamon to the apples and vanilla extract to the batter and it was perfect. Thanks!

    Hi Robin

Could you sub coconut sugar for sugar? Or do you have another sugar substitute suggestion?

I have Bob’s Red Mill flour without xan gum. Do I need to add the xan gum to the flour for this recipe?
