    Easy Gluten-Free Saltines (Hot & Spicy Recipe)

    Ingredients for Gluten-Free Saltines (Hot & Spicy)

    • 1 7.4 oz package of Schar gluten-free table crackers
    • 1/3 cup olive oil or avocado oil
    • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
    • 1 teaspoon dill weed
    • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
    • 1/2 teaspoon chives
    • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
    • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

    This recipe uses 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of red pepper flakes and I feel like it has just the right amount of hot, but if you like things really hot you can add another teaspoon of red pepper flakes.

    Instructions

    Packages of gluten-free saltines and a bag with spices and olive oil to make hot crackers.
    • Preheat oven to 275ยฐ. Place parchment paper on a large baking pan.
    • Add the olive oil and all the spice ingredients into a gallon-size zip-top bag. Seal the bag and mix and shake the ingredients together.
    • Place 1/2 of the saltines into the bag, reseal, and gently toss and turn the bag around to coat the crackers and distribute the mixture onto the crackers.

    • Remove the crackers with tongs and place them on the baking pan. Repeat with the remaining crackers.
    • Place the baking pan into the oven and bake for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool.

    How to store

    Store cooled spicy saltine crackers at room temperature in an air-tight container for up to a week.
