Dairy-Free Chocolate Frosting is deliciously rich and smooth. This easy-to-make recipe makes enough frosting to decorate a double-layer 8-inch or 9-inch cake or two dozen cupcakes and it goes perfectly with my Gluten-Free Chocolate Cake.

Ingredients
- 1 cup dairy-free butter, softened (I used Country Crock Plant-Based Butter with Avocado)
- 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (Hershey’s)
- 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 tablespoons almond milk
Instructions
- Take dairy-free butter out of the refrigerator and set it on the counter for about 30 minutes before making the frosting so that it can soften.
- Use a hand mixer and whip the butter for 2 minutes on low-medium speed.
- Then add in the rest of the ingredients and mix until completely combined and smooth.
How to store
This can be made a day or two in advance if needed and can be covered and let on the counter at room temperature.
