Or store them in a covered container in the refrigerator to have on hand for a quick and easy side. My favorite way to cook these later is to fry them for the tastiest fried potatoes.

How To Cook Potatoes in an Instant Pot

Clean yellow potatoes in the inner pan of an Instant Pot.
Instant Pot with the setting for manual pressure cooking for 13 minutes.
    • Rinse potatoes to remove any dirt and cut out any blemishes.
    • Place a trivet in the bottom of the Instant Pot pan.
    • Add 1 cup of water for 6 QT or 1 1/2 cups of water for 8 QT.
    • Place potatoes on top of the trivet and seal the lid.
    • Set the manual pressure setting for 13 minutes (medium-sized yellow potatoes) or 15 minutes (large yellow potatoes)
Instant Pot after 10 minutes natural release.
    • Allow natural pressure release for 10 minutes and then remove the lid.
    • Remove potatoes to a serving bowl and serve immediately or allow to cool and then store in a covered container in the refrigerator.

    Ways to Serve These Potatoes

    • Serve these while still warm and mash with a fork on your plate. Add salt, pepper, butter, or dairy-free butter, and top with a dash of milk of your choice.
    • Refrigerate to use later. I like to use cooked and cooled potatoes for the easiest and tastiest fried potatoes or hash browns.
