These are perfect for salads, soups, and excellent for snacking!
4 slices gluten-free bread, fresh from the bag or left out for a day to dry which makes it day-old bread
4 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 teaspoon oregano
1/4 teaspoon basil
1/8 teaspoon onion powder
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
Slice the bread into strips and cut the strips into cubes. Place the bread cubes into a medium-sized bowl.
Mix the rest of the ingredients in a small bowl and then pour over the bread cubes. Stir the bread cubes around until they are all coated with the seasoning mix.
To bake in the oven: Heat oven to 400°. Lightly spray a baking pan with oil and then spread the bread cubes out over the pan.
Bake the croutons for 9-10 minutes in the oven, check the last couple of minutes to gauge how toasted you want them. If you’re using day-old bread they may cook faster. Remove from oven and let cool on a wire rack.
To make in an air fryer: Place seasoned bread cubes out in an air fryer basket and spread them out. Cook for 3-4 minutes and then remove to a wire rack to cool.
